Challenge
Visiting the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky — the home of America’s sports car — is a pilgrimage for car fanatics. So, it’s only natural that the museum store is a destination for fans and loved ones alike, offering more than 2,500 products ranging from branded merch to specialty car accessories. But shopping at the Corvette Museum Store — both online and in person — didn’t match Corvette’s legacy as “the pinnacle of precision.” Customers found it difficult to browse for products, which were shown in static visuals only, often without models — and at the brick-and-mortar store, staff juggled two different platforms to manage sales.
Solution
To create a more user-friendly shopping experience, our team created CorvetteStore.com through the Shopify platform, building out custom functionality to meet business objectives, like serving data-driven product recommendations and exclusive member discounts that required pulling in external data. We simplified search and made it visually more dynamic with lifestyle imagery of the products, like people wearing Corvette shirts and using tumblers emblazoned with the sports car’s revered logo. Our team coordinated an on-site photo and video shoot to capture these visuals, giving visitors a better sense of the store’s offerings than ever before.
Impact
The store’s launch ushered in easier browsing and smoother checkout, online and in person. Along with streamlining e-commerce, we helped the brick-and-mortar store integrate Shopify’s point of sale — meaning new scanners, card readers, tablets and registers — transforming how the retail team operates.
In addition to an increase in sales, the elevated shopping experience now lives up to Corvette’s reputation as a “true performance machine.”
We build custom solutions and bespoke digital products because we know that no two business challenges are the same.
