Ninth Annual Hack Week Reunites Lifeblue, Heifer International in Person

About 40 people at Hack Week in matching green t-shirts stand outside the Heifer International building and throw their hands up.

After two years of virtual Hack Weeks, we got back to our roots — meeting in person to work with our partner Heifer International for the ninth annual Hack Week.

During Hack Week, the majority of our company shifts focus, dedicating an entire week to helping Heifer International fulfill its mission of ending hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth.

This year, from Oct. 3-7, we returned to Little Rock, Arkansas, which Heifer International has called home base for more than 75 years.

From tackling development projects to dreaming up new storytelling strategies, Hack Week serves as a catalyst, enabling our teams to knock out critical work that would otherwise take months to complete — and do so before the holidays, a critical time for donation-based organizations to raise funds.

In 2019, we culminated Hack Week by launching the new Heifer.org, a major endeavor to overhaul its digital presence.

Along with helping Heifer International empower local farmers and business owners, Hack Week is also about fostering our relationship with Heifer’s team.

That’s what made reuniting in person for the first time since the pandemic so valuable.

We were able to work side-by-side with our counterparts to quickly hash out ideas, snag people in the halls when we had a question and wind down at the end of the day by grabbing dinner together.

Getting to spend time together is very valuable. We’re grateful for this special opportunity to join Heifer International to build a brighter future.
