Whatever you do, don’t call the National Soccer Hall of Fame a museum. It’s so much more than that: Measuring 19,350 square feet and worth every bit of $55 million, the state-of-the-art facility in Frisco, Texas, is changing the game.
Boasting the most personalized experience in sports, the Hall of Fame opened its doors Oct. 20 to induct the Class of 2018 and to kick off a new era in sports tourism. It opens to the public Nov. 2; tickets are available on their website.
The Hall of Fame uses innovative technology delivering a personalized experience, from facial recognition software to interactive skills challenges, for each attendee who walks through the door on the south end of Toyota Stadium. It serves as the definitive source for the history of the sport in America.
“It’s extremely important,” executive director Djorn Buchholz told the Los Angeles Times. “When you look at soccer in this country, in some respects it’s been around longer than football. There is some rich history. We want to tell those stories.”
We’re proud to have worked with the Hall of Fame and the Hunt Sports Group as they prepared for the kickoff weekend, which included a concert by Imagine Dragons, a high-stakes match between FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City and a legends match featuring greats from the North American Soccer League.
